On the eve of May Day there comes an encouraging news that Wang Zhen, President of Inner Mongolia Erdos Resources Co., Ltd. was awarded again the May 1st Labor Medal.

The May 1st Labor Medal is awarded to the advanced labor individuals and collections for their prominent contributions to the national economic construction and social development. As one of the top awards granted to the Chinese workers by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, it is also one of the country’s highest praise for labors.

There is an era upholding practical work and respecting labor. The labors of the new era work hard and industriously with a firm, persistent and meticulous craftsman’s spirit, and set examples for the social morality of “honorable labor” and atmosphere of dedication in pursuit of perfection in the new era.

After learning herself awarded, Wang Zhen could hardly conceal her excitement. Looking back at the past, she recalled those harsh days with ERDOS and appreciating the opportunity offered by this era as well as colleagues and teammates who work together with her. Speaking to the future, she reviewed her responsibility as a labor and leader in a new era and proposed new directions and hopes for the future development of ERDOS.


It is already hot in Beijing in April. Just like the weather, we have started our work for another year after a careful plan in the early spring. As to me, this year is different from the years before. Just when I was busy working, I learned that I was awarded the National May 1st Labor Medal, one of the country’s highest praise for labors.

I feel much honored because it is a positive affirmation of not only me, but also the development of the Group in the past. I feel very grateful to such an era in rapid growth and group of people who dare to think and do. This medal is condensed with the wisdom and endeavor of all the people.

At the very early time, the westerners have realized the preciousness and high added value of cashmere. They took this natural gift as “soft gold”. However, China’s high quality cashmere seldom has discourse power in the overseas market but to be sold as a raw material for meager profits.

As the reform and opening begins, we re-recognize the importance of economy, science and technology as well as labors. Echoing to this opportunity, our fathers decisively pursued revitalization of national industry and build-up of national brands throughout their whole lives. They started from zero and worked hard. If there was no money, they would procure the most advanced equipment and technologies by “compensation trade”. If there was no experience, they would go overseas to study others as a student. If there was no paradigm, they would probe until took a big innovative step in operation, management, personnel administration and remuneration. After the exploration and effort by a whole generation of labors, no one had thought that on this old Inner Mongolian land, such a “world cashmere king” walked out of the unknown border town, having left Western brands far behind and broken the curse that Chinese enterprises only struggled in the downstream industry with no relationship to fashion. Among these heroes who blazed a way through all manner of obstacles, many still stick to their posts with the memory of the years full of passion.

Entering a new century means the relay baton of entrepreneurship passed down to younger generations who stand on the giant’s shoulder with a higher perspective and a wider stage, but Facing upgrading and transformed consumption and the white hot global economic competition as well as more challenges and even risks. On the other hand, the younger generation, just as their predecessors, are beneficial from the more open era and better education which make them better at thinking and taking actions. No matter whether the management innovation, technology improvement or brand rebuilding and image change, have all changed in such a dozen short years, which makes the cashmere industry able to be the head of the textile industry as well as the representative and leader of the whole industry within a few consecutive years

The passing time never underplays the honor of labor but has magnified the wisdom and courage of labors. It is them who created a world-shocked circulate economic industry chain and a peaceful happy industrial park in the uninhabited Qipanjing, having the spirit of “The Whole World Warmed by ERDOS’ present and pass down in another way and making ourselves “the world cashmere king”.

Looking back, all the achievements are attributed to labors. Looking into future, the glory gained so far belongs to labors. As an enterprise upholding practical work and respecting labor, we hope our labors can share and enjoy the achievements and miracles made by them.

This year is the fortieth anniversary of the Reform and Opening. It will be May Day in two days. At such special moment, I salute to all the labors across the country. Labors who have concerned about and sacrificed much for ERDOS, happy May Day and wish you and your family happy, healthy and successfully!
